Hair Trial Success (Almost)!

I know I said I wanted a side pony, but I changed my mind! I love this low up do my stylist pulled together on a whim when I went for my first hair trial and now I need your opinions!

I had about a dozen pictures of a dozen different hairstyles - making my indecision so very obvious - but somehow we managed (she managed, I should say) to create something fun and simple that will be beautiful on my big day!

I told my friend, Jumana (the stylist) to do whatever she wanted. All I cared about was that it was up, low (versus on the top of my head), and secure. For me, there's nothing worse than fiddling with my hair and I don't want to have that problem on wedding day!

She got it secure all right!

As you can see, Jumana aims to please and boy, was I excited about this fancy-smacy do she set me up with! I never honestly realized how important my hair was - here I've been worried about place cards - meanwhile Jumana is telling me, "Oh everyone talks about the bride's hair!" Really? I had no idea!

Guess it's a good thing I have such a rockin' stylist!

This next picture is my favorite because of how elegant my hair looks! Honestly y'all, I felt like Jackie Onassis! I felt sophisticated, yet stylish! That's how I should feel, right?

I can't emphasize to you enough the importance of a hair trial.

I had honestly thought about skipping one and coming up with something the day of the wedding, but I'm so glad I didn't do that! What a nightmare! The thing is, a wedding skews your priorities a little like I mentioned earlier and you might not know what you want to do to your hair; the hair trial will fix all of that. It gives you a chance to get used to the idea that you're the star of the day. It gives you a chance to see yourself how you will be seen in your wedding pictures! I know you don't believe me, but it's true! Go have your hair trial and come back and tell me how thankful you are you did it! Trust me!

So, the other really good reason to have a hair trial is for those brides wearing a veil! Did anyone else have trouble securing the veil (either at their trial or at their wedding)? We had a few problems with it, but I think we finally figured it out and man, the veil made all the difference in the world!

Tip: Don't take your actual veil to the salon. This one belongs to one of my step mother's friends who was married last April. She let me borrow it for the trial since mine is cathedral length, which made it way easier to work with!

I don't know what's up with my facial expression!

Pretty, pretty! I love this next shot!

The hair trial was definitely a success and mostly because it gave me time to get used to the look that I'll have on our wedding day. You know, the look I'll have in all those pictures! At the salon I was all smiles. I exclaimed over and over "It's perfect," but a few hours later I started to wonder.

The Almost Part: I LOVE the back. How could I not? I'm just not sure about the front. The side swoop was a little too... I don't know what the word is... mature? I felt like I looked older than I really am and I don't like that. I want to look youthful! Come on cause 25 years old is still youthful, right?

Well, just in case you don't understand what I mean, I took these pictures in the bathroom stall at Best Buy (yeah... we went to Best Buy after my hair trial even though I looked like I should have been going to the Kennedy Center)!

What do you think? Should I go with something different in the front?

I think a bump like this would be cute and a lot more fun:

for anyone wearing a headband... : wedding hair Jessica Alba Loose Low Chignon Hairstyle 4 09

We could also do a side part like this:

We could even have some pieces hanging down in the front:

What do you guys think? How did your hair trial go?

I love love love the back of your hair! I think it looks great parted the way it is, but agree it's a little more mature look.

I say keep the same general style and part like the other pics you showed. The Carrie underwood is gorgeous!

Beautiful! It looks so nice! Love it with the veil. I think a little pouf or style in the front would be really nice too!

My hair trial is in a couple weeks! Excited!

It looks great! I think people only talk about the brides hair if it is bad but you obviously won't run into that. I think it looks too mature because it looks kind of stiff in the front. I think your right that maybe a little poof or side bang would be divine.

I had the same problem with my hair trial I loved the back but the front looked stiff. I like Carrie Underwood's hair the best--fun & youthful.
